Save the Date: Annual General Meeting - Wed. Oct 14 @ 1pm

The Club’s Annual General Meeting is an in-person meeting at Frank Wills Community Centre in Cochrane. As part of the AGM, elections for Board positions will take place.

We are seeking members who are interested in serving on the Board, contributing to the Club’s future, and gaining a deeper understanding of what happens behind the scenes.

Nominations will be accepted for the following positions:

  • President

  • Vice-President

  • Treasurer

  • Secretary

  • Director (2 positions)

For Role descriptions, please review the Club bylaws and refer to Article 3 on pages 5–7. Members may self-nominate or nominate another member (with their permission). Nominations procedures are listed below.

Any nomination of an individual for election as a Director will:

a) identify the Directors position being sought – President/Vice President/Secretary/Treasurer/Director;

b) include the written consent of the nominee by signed or electronic signature;

d) be submitted to the current Secretary of the Society ten (10) days prior to the AGM. Interested parties may send their expression of interest to Brett Mackey, Secretary at: brettmackey2@gmail.com

Ratings Update

All ratings sessions are now full for the season. If you wish to challenge a rating level in September, please contact Club Rater, Peter Llewellyn to arrange a date and payment. Members will also need to Book A Court through Court Reserve. (Peter@Peterllewellyn.com or 403-678-7729)

Once you've completed your rating session, Peter will send confirmation of the rating outcome to Ken Little at: ratingscpc@gmail.com so your rating can be updated in Court Reserve and Pickleball Canada.

Cochrane Indoor Pickleball Association: Come Play This Fall!

Enjoy indoor pickleball this fall at the SLS Sport Courts in Cochrane — no need to drive to Calgary!

Program highlights include:

  • Sessions for all levels, from beginner to 4.0-rated players

  • Dedicated groups based on playing level

  • 1.5-hour sessions

  • A maximum of 18 players per group

  • Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday or Friday-only registration blocks

  • Approximately three months of play

  • Reasonable fees with no additional SLS charges

  • Beginner training, tournaments, social events and more

Limited spaces are still available, so register early.

A Few Reminders - Code of Conduct, Gates and Gum!

Everyone is responsible for a safe and inclusive Club. Click here to refresh on the Code of Conduct.

Please take care of the gates. Open and close them gently, and make sure they are secure when entering or leaving the courts so they are not bashed around by the wind. DO NOT force gates or kick them.

Please email: cochranepickleballclub@gmail.com if a gate is sticking or needs repair.

Please refrain from chewing GUM on the courts. Not only is it gross to step into or touch on a gate or fence it is very difficult to remove and can damage the playing surface. Please dispose of your gum in the receptacles provided before stepping onto the court.

Lost It? Let’s Get It Back to You!

Our Lost and Found is overflowing with clothing, water bottles, caps, sunglasses and more!

Check the Lost and Found section on the Club website or visit the Lost and Found bin at the Crazy Eight's Tournament on September 26 to reclaim your missing items.

Claim deadline: September 30. After this time, remaining items will be donated.

Take a look—something you’ve been missing may be waiting for you!

Please be reminded that Club members are NOT allowed to bring guests onto Club Courts for a myriad of reasons including insurance coverage. This also means, that no public members can be invited to "fill in" for Club scheduled events. We understand this can be frustrating and are working to find a sustainable solution!
