AGM Nominations Close Soon | AGM Package Coming your Way!
Wednesday, October 14 at 1 p.m.

We are down to the final days to receive nominations** for President, Vice-President, Treasurer and two Director positions. Members in good standing may nominate themselves or another member, with that person’s permission. Voting will take place at the AGM, with an electronic option for members who cannot attend. Watch for a detailed AGM Agenda and Presentation being sent this week providing members with an opportunity to ask questions via email in advance of the AGM. The Board will provide a unified answer to all questions received, via mass email on October 13th if needed.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the Club’s future and learn more about the work that happens behind the scenes. Read the AGM agenda.

A Little Time. A Lasting Difference!
A heartfelt thank-you to Club members Sue O’Rielly, Janine Johnson, Nancy Jones and Catherine Burdett for volunteering with the Bow Valley Special Olympics pickleball program at the Greystone Courts. By sharing their time and love of the game, they’re helping local athletes build skills, confidence, and connections.
Several of these athletes competed at Provincials at Club 315 this year—the first time Pickleball Alberta included Special Olympics athletes in the event. A wonderful milestone celebrating the place of players of all abilities in our sport!
Our members continue to show that we’re more than a pickleball club. We are socially responsible and engaged in our community! You can still make a difference off the courts by supporting the annual fundraising initiative. See the this document for details on how you can be involved!
One Last Game Before Winter
The Club courts close on Monday, October 12. Thanksgiving Monday will be the final day of scheduled play this season. Take advantage of the great weather we are having this week!
Morning Flights, Medal Moments
Congratulations to the medal winners in all four Crazy Eight’s morning flights on Saturday, September 26! You showed up, played hard and brought great energy despite the chilly weather. Way to go, everyone!
MLP 3.5/4.0: A Winning Finish
Our end-of-season MLP playoffs are complete! Twelve teams were seeded according to the regular season standings and placed in Gold, Silver and Bronze divisions. Four teams in each division competed for their division championship.
Congratulations to the medal winners, and thank you to all of the captains, players, and subs who took part. A special thank-you goes to Jacquie Mann for coordinating the league throughout the season. A great time was had by all!

Crazy Eight’s Flight Medalists!
Thank you to Greg Young and his Flight Assistants - Norm Bowman, Joanne Ferster and Gerry Clipperton along with the participants and spectators at the Crazy Eight's afternoon tourney! Mother Nature cooperated this time around, and loads of friendly competition was enjoyed by all!
A Sweet Finish to a Great Season!
What do you get when 110 members gather at The Sweet Spot, a local Cochrane eatery? A season send-off filled with laughter, familiar friends and new connections! Our Sept 26 celebration came together thanks to Andrea Smith, Fay Durocher and Pat Bennett (pictured left to right) - event organizers extraordinaire who looked after every detail and made it a night to remember. Greg Young, President also recognized the countless volunteers hours contributed across the Club!

A Few Reminders - Code of Conduct, Gates and Gum!
Everyone is responsible for a safe and inclusive Club. Click here to refresh on the Code of Conduct.
Please take care of the gates. Open and close them gently, and make sure they are secure when entering or leaving the courts so they are not bashed around by the wind. DO NOT force gates or kick them.
Please email: cochranepickleballclub@gmail.com if a gate is sticking or needs repair.
Please refrain from chewing GUM on the courts. Not only is it gross to step into or touch on a gate or fence it is very difficult to remove and can damage the playing surface. Please dispose of your gum in the receptacles provided before stepping onto the court.

Big Hearts, Higher Peaks!
Our Club members' generosity reaches well beyond the courts! Rod and Val Ball, Leslie Davies, Susan and Brett Mackey support the Trek to the Summit, Nepal Fundraiser sponsored by Aama Restaurant in Heritage Hills this past weekend. Their community spirit reminds us that we're more than a pickleball club. We're a Club that cares!
Please be reminded that Club members are NOT allowed to bring guests onto Club Courts for a myriad of reasons including insurance coverage. This also means, that no public members can be invited to "fill in" for Club scheduled events. We understand this can be frustrating and are working to find a sustainable solution!
